| About | Janet Gail Huber, 73, of Hudson, FL passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 2, 2023 with her daughters by her side. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 24,1950. In 1973, at just 22 years old, she came to Florida and built a life with her girls, Karrie and Kellie, and many dear family members and friends. In 1982 she met her future husband, Ken, and soon after their marriage welcomed a third daughter, Kenie. Together, they built a beautiful life in the greater New Port Richey community full of boating, festivals, family, friends, neighbors, and community service. Jan was one-of-a-kind. A problem-solver, a wonderful host, creative, and unforgettable. A favorite reminder she shared with herself and others was “strong like bull”, a phrase she recited over and over as she fell ill with cancer in August of 2021. She went on to live two more years in relatively good health thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Moffitt Cancer Center–and the many friends and family members that showered her with support throughout her journey. She is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Thelma, her second daughter, Kellie, and her husband, Ken. She is survived by her first and third daughters, Karrie and Kenie, Karrie’s partner Derek, daughter-in-law, Catherine, and granddog, Heartly. She will be loved, cherished, and remembered forever.
