About Alisha Jewel Johnson, 19, of Boyne City and formerly of Charlevoix, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, at the Community Church of God in Charlevoix. The Rev. Neil Turner and Ray Ard will officiate. Burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix.
Alisha was born Sept. 25, 1981, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Connie Whitley. She was raised and attended school in Charlevoix, graduating with the class of 2000.
Alisha worked at Oleson's in Charlevoix for two years before joining the staff of Northern Michigan Hospital in the day care where she enjoyed working with the young children.
N In high school, Alisha participated in the band and was on the ski team. She also was a member of the Charlevoix 4-H Market Livestock and showed horses. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing piano.
Survivors include her parents, Mark G. and Connie L. Johnson, and one brother, Chad A. Johnson, all of Charlevoix; fiancé, Nick Carrow, of Boyne City; paternal grandparents, Gladys and Graham Johnson, of Mayville, Mich.; maternal grandparents, Stanley and Patricia Whitley, of Charlevoix; biological father, Jesse Salinas, of East Jordan; several half brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alisha Johnson Memorial Ski Scholarship Fund. Envelopes are available at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix, where friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 28.
