About | MARQUETTE - Cammie Jane Mac, age 46, of Marquette, and formerly of Charlevoix, lost her battle with ALS on Friday, October 31, 2014. She passed at her home in the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice. Cammie was born July 24, 1968, in Flint, Michigan, to James Ketchum and Pamela (Jones) Murray. She was raised in Charlevoix and graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1986, before moving to Marquette to attend Northern Michigan University and earning a degree in social work. During college, Cammie became employed with Pathways Community Mental Health, where she would continue a 21 year career working with both adults and children. Cammie was an active and dedicated mother who cherished her time spent with her boys. She adored her nephew who brought her so much joy these last two years. Cammie enjoyed the outdoors and spending time in nature but,in her own words, "my favorite things in life are drinking, smoking and eating out." Cammie will always be remembered for her Farrah Fawcett hair, wedge-heels, many shades of lipstick, and contagious laughter. Her bubbly personality and warm hugs could brighten the darkest of days and will be sorely missed. Cammie is survived by her children, Magnus & Jules Mac; her partner, Toni Olavarria; and step- daughters, Caitlin & Carlie Ward; her mother, Pamela Murray; sister, Stacie Kucera; and nephew, Rhys Kucera; her grandfather, Raymond Jones; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Ketchum; and grandmothers Jane and Mary Jane. Visitation for Cammie will be held at the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home on Friday, November 7, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Burial will be made in Park Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Shelly Morley, Richard Ward, Alysha Pomeroy, Lake Superior Hospice (especially Louise Wilcox), Dr. Amy Fletemier & Mary for all their dedication in helping Cammie through this challenging time.
