About | Celia May Williams, 86, died Monday at a local convalescent hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. William was born on July 21, 1906, to Phillip and Elizabeth (Lewis) Howe in Charlevoix, Mich. Where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Charlevoix High School and Charlevoix Normal School, and attended Ypsilanti Sate Normal College and Detroit Conservatory of Music. On June 28, 1928, she married Arthur B. Williams, in Wayne County, Mich., and the settled in Richmond. Mrs. Williams taught classical piano in her home for 55 years and also worked for Beckman Instruments, an electronics manufacturing and assembly frim in Richmond, for 15 years. She retired in the early 1960s, and spent time with her music and painting. She and her husband moved to Yountville in 1971. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Assembly of God Church, and belonged to several music groups and art associations. She also taught art classes. She is survived by a daughter, Priscilla Ortega of Sunnyvale; two sons, Thomas A. of Modesto and Robert B. of Washington; a sister Beatrice Kappen of Farmington Hill, Mich; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband passed away on Jan. 7, 1992. She was also predeceased by five brothers and three sisters. Friends are invited to pay their respects at Richard Pierce Funeral Service, 1660 Silverado Trail, today until 8 p.m. Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 8 to 10 a.m. Private family services will be held Friday at the funeral home.
