About | Charles E. Bellinger, 93, of Charlevoix and Zephyrhills, Fla., died April 18, 2000, in Zephyrhills. Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the United Methodist Church in Charlevoix. The Rev. Philip G. Schairbaum of the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix will officiate and interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix. Mr. Bellinger was born March 3, 1907, in Charlevoix, the son of William and Eleanor (Greenaway) Bellinger. He is a 1925 graduate of Charlevoix High School and graduated from County Normal School in 1926. On Sept. 20, 1931, he married Alice McNeal in Boyne City. He owned Bellinger Jewelry Shop for almost 50 years, retiring in the early 1970s. “Charlie” was a 70-year life member and past master of Charlevoix Lodge No. 226 F&AM, and had served on the Charlevoix City Council for 17 years. He attended the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix. He is survived by his wife, Alice, of Charlevoix and Zephyrhills, Fla.; son, Donald (Barbara) Bellinger, of Elk Rapids; sisters, Wilma Smith of Charlevoix, and Adeline (George) Wallam of Traverse City; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grand- children. Mr. Bellinger was preceded in death by a son, Joseph, in 1976. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix. The family is being served by the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix. |
