About | Doris Durance, 88 of Charlevoix passed away on July 17, 1996. She leave her daughter, Donna Snell, and son-in-law Paul Snell, of Rochester, N.Y.; two sisters, Vida Richardson of Charlevoix, and Marguerite Davis of Petoskey; four grandchildren, Keith Law, Brenda Tea and husband, Nick, Scott Law and his wife Andrea, and Mark Law, and his wife Mary; and six great-grandchildren. Doris was born Sept. 18, 1907, in Marion Township and lived all her life in Charlevoix, where she was a longtime member of the Community Church of god until her death. The former Doris Black was married to Percy Durance, who died in 1948. At age 50, she became a receptions at Michigan State University, retiring 15 years later. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix.
