orothy C. Olach Laurent, 81, of Charlevoix, died November 21, 2005, at the Charlevoix Area Hospital. Rite of Christian Burial will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Charlevoix, Fr. Jerry Hunko officiating. Dorothy was born February 6, 1924, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Edward and Marie (Prekale) Olach. She attended Saint Mary's School, then graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1942. Dorothy earned her Registered Nurse from Mercy School of Nursing in Grand Rapids. On March 10, 1948, she married Robert R. Laurent in Cadillac who preceded her in death in 1989. Dorothy began working as a Registered Nurse in 1947 at Cadillac, then Muskegon, retiring in 1986, from Hurley Hospital in Flint. In 1992 she moved to Colorado Springs and returned to Charlevoix in October 2003. Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Diana (Dick) Enga of Colorado Springs, CO, Cynthia MacDonald of Canon City, CO, Denise (Bill) Damore of Freeland, Michele Laurent and Jodi Laurent both of Charlevoix; grandchildren: Dan (Andrea) Enga of St. Paul, MN, Kirsten (Marcus) Van Ooyen, and R.J. (Katie) Enga all of Colorado Springs, CO, Melanie (Eric) McFarland, and Christopher Damore of Warrensburg, MO, William MacDonald of Canon City, CO; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Olach Close of Charlevoix; brothers: Clement (Betty) Olach of Charlevoix, Vincent (Jan) Olach of Ellsworth; nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Mary's Church in Charlevoix. Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix is in charge of arrangements. |
