About | FUNERAL SERVICES FOR CADET MCMILLAN HERE THIS AFTERNOON Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon for Cadet F. Albert McMillan, 25, of the U. S. Army Air Corps, who was killed in an air crash at Shaw Field, Sumter, S. C. on Thursday afternoon. The body was brought here Monday. Rev. Leigh H. Hagle will officiate at the service held at the See Funeral Home. Burial will be made at the Brookside cemetery. Frey Albert McMillan was born at Indian River on September 20, 1916, the son of Dr. and Mrs. F. F. McMillan. He came here as a child with his family. He graduated from the Charlevoix high school in 1934 and was valedictorian, attended Albion College for three years and graduated and received his master's degree in forestry from the University of Michigan. Following his graduation he was with the government forestry service at Norris, Tenn. He enlisted in the air corps in December and went into the service in January. He received his preliminary training at Maxwell Field, Ala., and was at Bennettsville, S. C. before going to Shaw Field for the third period of his training. Surviving besides his parents are two sisters, Mrs. Freda Shupik and Mrs. Lila Arvilla, of Charlevoix, and a grandfather, Harry Dagwell, of Indian River. |
