About Age 37, of Canton, formerly of Northville and Charlevoix, passed away April 29, 2014. He was born on July 26, 1976 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to Bryan R. and Sheri L. (nee Wolgamott). Jason grew up in Charlevoix and graduated from Charlevoix High School. He received an Associate's Degree from Lansing Community College and later graduated from the Radcliff Center Fire Academy. He moved to Northville in 2001 and Canton in 2010. He was the owner of Jay's AAA RC, a RC repair company and also worked as a demonstrator and salesman for Extreme RC. Jason was also a volunteer firefighter for the City of Northville and the City of Charlevoix. Jason's family was his world; he was a loving father and adored his children. He was a lot of fun and very charismatic; he was everyone's friend and "that guy" who was always living in the moment. Jason was very athletic; his favorite sports were football, wrestling, and running, in which he still holds a high school record. His favorite hobby and passion were RC cars and helicopters. Jason was truly in his element when he was outdoors; he loved hunting, fishing, ice fishing, morel mushroom hunting, and four wheeling. He is survived by his adored children, Kylie, Racheal, Ellarie, and Jace; his parents, Bryan R. VanLoo and Sheri (Bill) Fels; his brother, Bryan R. VanLoo, Jr.; his grandparents, Barb (Les Spires) Storey, Faye (Dr. John Lignell) VanLoo, and Gordon Wolgamott; his fiancé, MelissaJo Garner; the mother of his children, Courtney Hamilton VanLoo; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Papa Roxy. A Celebration of Jason's Life will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 3 p.m. with a time of gathering beginning at 2 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.
