About | Lucille Audrey Anderson, 86, of Lansing, entered her heavenly home peacefully on Sunday, January 27, 2013 to a warm embrace by her husband George. Lucille was born in rural Charlevoix at the Warner farmhouse on January 25, 1927. Lucille is survived by her daughter Nancy E. Anderson, son Paul W. Anderson (Joanne), both of Lansing; two grandchildren, Aaron of Grand Rapids, and Katie, who is attending CMU in Mt. Pleasant. Also survived are her sister, Irene, of Taylor, MI, and many nieces and nephews. Besides being preceded in death by her husband George of 64 years, she is also preceded by father and mother, Charles and Emma Warner; brothers, Clyde, Jiles, Homer, Burton, Dixon, Harrison, Jasper, Harley, Everett, and Doyle; as well as sisters, Lyda, and Leona. Shortly after graduation from Charlevoix High School in 1944, Lucille came to Lansing as an administrative assistant for the Michigan School for the Blind. It was there, that she greeted George upon his job interview for a teaching position. They were married on July 26, 1947. Lucille was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. She served the church in many capacities including Sunday School teacher and neighborhood tutor. Her love of children also extended to Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. Lucille became very involved in our families genealogy. She authored two books, “If I Could Only Talk to You Now,” on the Warner side and “Home is Where the Heart is,” on the Anderson side. She had a love of people and their traditions from countries all over the world, as she was active in the Greater Lansing Scandinavian Society, as well as hostess to many international music groups through Blue Lake. The family would like to express extreme gratitude to the staff and caregivers at the Ingham Regional Assisted Living. Lucille was blessed to be surrounded by such a loving group the last 15 months of her life. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, 528 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Lansing, MI with Pastor Dan R. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
