Maxwell Lawrence Ostrum Obituary (2002 - 2026)

Graduation Year Class of 2022
Date of Birth Oct 11, 2002
Date of Passing May 21, 2026
About Maxwell Lawrence Ostrum, 22, of Charlevoix, Michigan went to the arms of our Lord on Thursday May 21st in his home. Max was the consummate son, brother, friend, helping hand and teammate and he will be deeply missed by so many people that he graced his presence with.

Max was born in Charlevoix, Michigan on October 11th, 2003, to Melissa and Corey Ostrum. He graduated from Charlevoix High School in 2022. He received his Electrical Line Technician Certificate from Northern Michigan University in 2023 amongst the top in his class and was never afraid to climb as high as the task called for. Max was a skilled, driven and valued Apprentice Electrical Lineman in Summerville, South Carolina.

His passions in life included his family, his friends, the sports he competed in with his teammates, fishing and a good campfire with the music that fit his mood in that moment. His wry smile and his sense of humor lit up every room he was in, and his playfully mischievous behavior entertained many.

Maxwell is survived by his parents Melissa Ostrum (Darrah), Corey Ostrum, Brother Tyler Ostrum of Charlevoix, Grandparents Larry Darrah, Oma Darrah (Wettstead), Cheryl Darrah (Warren) of Charlevoix, Norman Ostrum of Marshall, Michigan, Jill Ostrum (Warner) of Charlevoix and Janet Ostrum (Johnston) of Marshall, Michigan. Aunt Lori Hart (Darrah), Uncles Delbert Hart of Charlevoix, Brian Darrah of Ellsworth, Michigan, Aunt Carly Ostrum (Zac Woodworth) of Marshall, Michigan. Cousins Tre Hart of Charlevoix, Brandon Darrah of Boyne City, Erica Darrah of Conway, Michigan and Katie Chavez (Darrah) of Flagstaff, Arizona. Let’s not forget his buddy and our canine family member Bogey.

A celebration of Max’s life will be held at The Community Reformed Church of Charlevoix, Michigan on Wednesday, May 27 at 2:00 PM with a luncheon and an opportunity to connect and share stories with those who loved Max to follow in the cafeteria.

Arrangements are in the care of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign his online guestbook www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
