Pamela A. Crain, 38, of Charlevoix, died June 15, 1995, at home. Her funeral was Saturday, June 17, at the Community Reformed Church of Charlevoix. Chaplain David Behling officiated with burial in Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix. Mrs. Crain was born Sept. 13, 1956, in Millington, Tenn., the daughter of David L. and Jeri L. (Nall) Mays. She was raised in Memphis, Tenn., and moved to Charlevoix in 1969. She graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1973Mrs. Crain had worked for Oleson's Food Store in Charlevoix for five years. She was also a licensed daycare operator for 10 years, working out of her home. Mrs. Crain loved her children and was involved with her family and community. She was a member of the Community Reformed Church of Charlevoix. On May 18, 1985, she married Roger A. Crain in Charlevoix. Mrs. Crain is survived by her husband, Roger A. Crain, of Charlevoix: two daughters, Megan and Kali Crain, and two sons, Jacob and Cody Crain, all of Charlevoix; one grandson, Tyler, of Charlevoix; her mother, Jeri Whitbeck, of Ooltewah, Tenn.; her maternal grandmother, Sarah Haines, of Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan; her father-in-law, Glenn Crain, of Charlevoix; and five brothers, Jonathan Mays and his wife, Kathy, and Scott Mays and his wife. Bev, all of Charlevoix. Jeffrey Mays and his wife, Karen, of Chattanooga,Tenn., Ron Whitbeck of Mesa, Ariz., and Todd Whitbeck and his wife, Nadine, of Tempe, Ariz. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the Crain Children Educational Fund. Envelopes for memorials are available at the Community Reformed Church of Charlevoix. Local arrangements were handled by the Winchester Funeral Home. |
