| About | Mrs. Phyllis M. Anderson, age 70, of Custer, went to be with the Lord Monday, Jan. 21 at her home on Sugar Grove Road. Phyllis was born March 19, 1931, to Earl and Verna (Block) Johnson of Charlevoix. She graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1949 and married Les Anderson on Nov. 27, 1959, in Charlevoix. Phyllis loved quilting, playing cards and games with her family and friends, fishing, and spending time at the cabin in the U.P. she had helped to build. She was active in her church as a member of the Ladies Aid and Secret Sisters. She will be fondly remembered for her fun-loving and giving nature by her family and many friends. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Oliver and Nuel Johnson. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Les; her four children, Lowell Anderson of Branch, Cindy (Bruce) Bosley of Branch, Ed (Michelle) Anderson of Custer, and Sandy (Wade Lovewell) Miston of Ludington; her nine grandchildren, Matthew Starky, Amber Turi, Jonathon Bosley, Jennifer (Tim) Legault, David, Becky, Sonja and Amanda Bosley, and Kayla Miston; her great-granddaughter, Abigail Legault; her brothers, Martin Johnson of Royal Oak and Paul (Gladys) Johnson of East Jordan; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at Bachelor Evangelical Covenant Church with the Rev. Norman Letsinger officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the Stephens Funeral Chapel in Scottville Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will take place at Bachelor Cemetery.
