About | SHEFFIELD -- Raymond M. Snider, 95, of Berkshire School Road died Oct. 31 at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where he had resided for several years. Born in Charlevoix, Mich., on Nov. 22, 1910, son of Edward and Elizabeth Spencer Snider, he graduated from Charlevoix High School. An Army veteran of World War II, he enlisted on June 30, 1943, and served with E Company, 34th Infantry, in the southern Philippines. He was discharged on Jan. 6, 1946, as a technician fifth grade and received several campaign medals. Mr. Snider owned and operated Snider TV Repair Services, retiring in 1993. Before that, he was employed by Berkshire School and at a local junk yard. His wife, the former Hazel Greiner, whom he married Sept. 15, 1934, in Michigan, is deceased. He leaves several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Raymond Snider died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006. In accordance with his wishes, his body was donated to science and will be buried next to his wife, Hazel, at a later date.
