About Tanner Dean Drost, 23, of Charlevoix, passed away April 4, 2021 in Grand Rapids. Tanner was born December 7, 1997 in Petoskey, to parents Lori Rozema and Deano Drost.

In 2016, Tanner graduated from Charlevoix High School. He attended Ferris State University for two years following graduation, then transferred to Grand Valley State University for the next two years, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Tanner was a proud member of Delta Sigma Phi while at Grand Valley State University.

Tanner was a fan of most everything in the outdoors, especially golfing, mushroom hunting, boating, fishing, and playing frisbee golf. Hanging out with his buddies while hammocking and having bonfires were some of his favorite times; Tanner being known for being the “practical joker” of the crew.

Tanner is survived by his loving parents, Lori (Troy) Martin and Deano (Julia) Drost all of Charlevoix, two sisters Autumn Drost (Fiancé Andrew Dodge) of Ypsilanti, MI, and Margaret Drost of Charlevoix. As well as maternal grandmother Janet Tubergen of Charlevoix, maternal grandfather Roger (Jackie) Rozema of Charlevoix, paternal grandmother Margaret Drost of Charlevoix, step-grandparents RuthAnn (Darrell) Martin of St. Johns, MI and Christine Rancilio of Dallas, TX; along with many extended family members and special friends. He is proceeded in death by his paternal grandfather Eugene Drost.

Funeral Services will take place Friday, April 9, 2021 at 6:30 p.m., at the Charlevoix High School Gymnasium, 5200 Marion Center Rd., Charlevoix, MI 49720. Visitation will take place Friday, also at Charlevoix High School in the Auditorium, from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Chip Sauer will officiate. Interment will take place at Norwood Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlevoix Area Humane Society, 614 Beardsley St., Boyne City, MI 49712.
