About Thomas F. Hawley, 47, of Horton Bay and formerly of Charlevoix, died Oct. 8, 1993, at his home.
A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix. The Rev. Philip G. Schairbaum will officiate.
Mr. Hawley was born Jan. 5, 1946, in Charlevoix, the son of E.D. "Pat" and Esther (Skagen) Hawley. He was raised in Charlevoix and graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1964.
He served in the U.S. Navy and attended Northwood Institute in Midland where he graduated in 1969 with a degree in accounting and finance.
Mr. Hawley worked as an accountant and in banking.
Mr. Hawley was involved with the Charlevoix Chamber of Commerce and served as committee chair for the Venetian Festival. He worked in fund-raising for the March of Dimes, was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the First Congregational Church.
He married Cindy Jane Woods on Charlevoix. Nov. 26, 1988, in DeTour Village and she survives.
Mr. Hawley enjoyed sailing, fishing and golfing.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; one daughter, Heather Hawley of Lapeer; one sister, Anne Genia and her husband Tony of Lauderdale, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hawley is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Janice Woods; his wife's maternal grand- mother, Leah McLeod; his wife's paternal grandparents, Marvin and Mildred Woods; and three brothers- in-law, Lewis P. Woods, Wayne F. Woods, and Allen R. Woods, all of De Tour Village.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay, 416 Connable Ave., Petoskey, Mich. 49770.
Friends are invited to meet with the family after the memorial service on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the church.
