About Mr. Bogart was born April 2, 1921, in Charlevoix, Michigan to William and Hazel Bogart. He died, Tuesday February 3, 2004 at the age of 82. Mr. Bogart was a veteran of W.W.II where he served as a Navy SeaBee in the area of Tinian and Saipan from 1943 to 1945. After the war he opened Bogart's Food Market which later became Bill and Al's on Grand River Ave. in north Lan- sing. He then worked as a Route Salesman for Sohn Linen Co; then became manager of Michigan Towel Supply Co. He retired as co-owner of Deluxe Towel service in 1983. He was a lifetime member of the Elks and member of the V. F. W. and the American Legion as well as the Royal Order of Moose. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Raymond Bogart and one sister, Lucille D. Farmer. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Helen D. Bogart, son, Ronald (Lorraine) of Nunica, MI; daughters, Pastor Billie Lou Gillespie (Roger) Brown of Henderson, MI; and Barbara (Jerry) Luoma of Lansing; sister, Helena Vincent of Colorado; grandchildren, Erin Brown, Jesse and Rayna Bogart, Timothy, Ian, Cera, Meghan Gillespie and Lindsay Luoma as well as step- grandchildren, Adam and Sarah Wright and other step-grandchildren from the Luoma & Brown Family. Mr Bogart was blessed with 5 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. Rafael Javier and Dr. Alan Neiberg & staff; Home Health Aid, Mark Ward and the employees of the Sparrow Infusion Center, MSU Nursing Health Care Ctr. (Veteran's services), Sparrow Eight South Staff,and in the last days, the Hospice House of Mid- Michigan (Sparrow-St. Lawrence Campus). A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church 162 N. Bridge St. Dimondale; Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at 2:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan or the MSU Veterans Clinic, patient services. The family is being served by the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Delta Chapel.
