Janet Marie Teddy Lansing Born December 16, 1957 in Lansing, died January 22, 2011 at Hospice House of Mid Michigan. Surviving are her daughter, Teddi Marie McAttee; mother, Bertha A. (Boots) Teddy; brother, Duane D. Teddy; nephew and nieces, Travis Teddy, Kala Teddy and Riley Teddy of North Carolina; and many pets. Her father, Harold D. Teddy, Assistant Commander of Personnel, Michigan State Police died in 1975. Former in-laws are Alan and Yvonne McAttee. Since 1973 Janet owned and operated Teddy Bear Piano Studio, teaching up to 80 students a week. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church; an active member of Lansing ProSymphony; an Honorary Life Member of Lansing Liederkranz Club; belonged to Capitol Area Music Teachers Association; and the National Association of Music Teachers. Janet was the pianist for Suitcase Theatre in 1974, 1975 and 1976, and directed the musical touring troupe New Christian Revue from 1985 to 1989. She was the pianist at Mt. Hope UMC and the bookkeeper for Pennsylvania Veterinary Care. A Celebration of Janet's life will be held Saturday, 12:00 noon, at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, 501 E. Mt. Hope. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 12:00-3:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 520 E. Mt Hope. Visitation will begin Saturday from 11:00 am until service time at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Janet Teddy Memorial Window Fund at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.
