About | William Harold Schudlich Born October 16, 1939. Passed on September 19, 2021 of complications from Parkinson's disease. Beloved husband of Barbara for 61 years. Loving father of WIlliam Alan (Terri) and Robert (Lori). Devoted grandfather to Michael, Ryan and Elyse. Dear brother of Linda Nowak (and partner Mike). Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mary, and sister Joanne. Bill was a professional baseball scout for 54 years, including 23 years with the Detroit Tigers and 23 years with the Cleveland Indians (Guardians). Prior to that, he taught junior high school in Taylor, MI for 23 years. He was a 3 year varsity baseball letterman at Michigan State University, including being honored as team captain and MVP in 1961 and as an All-Big 10 selection in 1960. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1961, but chose a teaching career instead. He was elected to the Dearborn Recreation Hall of Fame in 1991. In his later years, Bill split time between Bradenton, FL and Dearborn, MI.
