Haslett - Donald J. Lillrose, age 79, passed away Dec. 3, 2017 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. He was born Sept. 10, 1938 in Eagle River, Wisconsin to Emil and Lucille (Fiedler) Lillrose. Donald was raised in Haslett and graduated from Michigan State University. He was a Spartan through and through. Surviving are his wife, Irma Jean; son, Jeffrey Alan (Melissa) Lillrose; daughters, Jannie Lynn (Mark S) Sabo and Julie Ann (Bradley) Churchill; six grandchildren, Megan (Matthew) Davis, Matthew (Maggie) Sabo, Nicholas Lillrose, Benjamin Lillrose, Jackson Lillrose and Chance Churchill and brother, Richard Lillrose. Also survived by 14 nieces and nephews. Don's love of family and friends always came first. His travels around the world were his passion but they always led him back home. Visitation at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River, East Lansing, Thursday 6-8 p.m. Funeral service at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 5589 Van Atta Rd., Haslett, Friday 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Donald J. Lillrose Memorial Scholarship Fund at MSU Federal Credit Union. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at |
