About | Mark Thomas Iansiti, 70, of Okemos, Michigan passed away January 5, 2024 in the comfort of his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 7, 1953 in Lansing, Michigan to Vince and Agnes Iansiti who have preceded him in death. Mark grew up and lived most of his life in Haslett, Michigan, graduating from Haslett High School in 1971. He went on to marry Cathy Iansiti in 1983, together they shared over 25 years of marriage and had two sons, Steven and Jeffery, before going their separate ways. In 2012, Mark found love again when he met Mary Grinnell, they spent 10 years together until Mary’s passing in 2022. Mark dedicated the majority of his professional life to various roles within the State of Michigan, starting at the age of 18 until his retirement at 49. Notably, his contributions at the Office of Highway Safety Planning played a crucial role in the passage of Michigan’s primary enforcement seat belt law. An active member of the Son’s of the American Legion as well as the British Motoring Club; Mark found joy spending time in his barn restoring British sports cars. He also cherished moments camping with family and friends, playing a round of golf, and boating on Michigan’s inland lakes and waterways. Mark had a compassionate heart that compelled him to go out of his way to lend a helping hand to those that needed it. He enjoyed hosting gatherings at his home, where he shared his love for card games, particularly euchre, with friends. Mark’s love for his family was evident in his unwavering support and dedication to his loved ones. In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his partner of 10 Years, Mary Grinnell. He is survived by his sons, Steven (Kayla) Iansiti, and Jeff Iansiti (Liz Melvin); Grandsons: Paul Iansiti (5), Dominic Iansiti (3), and Milo Iansiti (1); older brother, Craig Iansiti; and former wife Cathy Iansiti. Per Mark’s wishes cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life is planned for the spring of 2024, details will be posted on Mark's Facebook page when arrangements are made.
