Judith K. Barber passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2024 with her devoted husband, Barrie Barber. Born October 21, 1943, Judith lived a life full of compassion, joy, and dedication to others.

Judith, the youngest of three children, grew up on a farm with her parents in Lapeer, Michigan, which instilled in her a deep love for nature and animals. She had a varied and fulfilling career, working alongside a chiropractor, and eventually running her own successful massage therapy practice. Her hands brought healing and comfort to many throughout her career.

At Buick Motors in Flint, Michigan, she met and married Barrie Barber, and they shared a loving marriage for 54 wonderful years. Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Hazel Rice of Columbiaville, Michigan, her first husband, Jack LaClair, her daughter Angela, her stepson Barrie Jr., She is survived by her devoted husband Barrie, her son Mark LaClair, and his wife Lisa, brother Max Rice and his wife Nancy.

Judith was a talented painter and poet, known for her beautiful and expressive artwork. Her creativity was a reflection of her joyous spirit and love for life. She grew beautiful flowers which overflowed the house. She loved to travel and visited many Civil War sites. Judith was also a proud supporter of Wounded Warriors, and was dedicated to helping others. Her involvement with East Mountain Cowboy Church in Edgewood, NM, and her advocacy for animal welfare showcased her generous and caring nature.

Judith's legacy of compassion, joy, and patriotism will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She was especially devoted to her beloved animals. She taught us all a great deal about kindness and the importance of caring for others.

A memorial service to celebrate Judith’s life will be held in August. Details to follow.
