Passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007. Born on June 19, 1958, she was the daughter of Walter and Beverly Rauker. A graduate of Lawton High School, Lawton, Michigan, she was also a graduate of Weber State College, Ogden, Utah, with a Medical Technical degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida with an Electrical Engineering degree. Julie was also a member of the International Electrical & Electronic Engineers Society. Julie was a very accomplished woman in the widespread choices of her career. She was employed as a radar engineer by NASA and at the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Hawaii. She taught fiber optics at the Houghton Engineering College. She provided missile telemetry engineering to the Ballistic Missile Defense program and spectrum management engineering to the Department of Energy. Her current employer was the National Weather Service where she provided radar engineering support to the Wind Profiler Network program. Her interests included the love of sailing with Craig, scuba diving, snow skiing, hiking, motorcycle riding, camping and she thoroughly enjoyed cooking. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed being with many close friends. Surviving are her mother, Beverly of Lawton, MI; her life companion, Craig Hodan of Waldorf, MD; her grandmother, Bernice Rauker-Sabino of Denton, TX; her brother, Fred (Renae) of Lawton, MI; her two nephews, Garrett and Dallas at home and her niece, Alicia of Kalamazoo, MI. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Walter Rauker and her precious cat, Cleo.
