| About | Obituary from Oscoda Press Former Oscoda Area High School teacher Karolyn M. Gordon of Oscoda died April 29, 1993 at St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Mich. She was 51. Born December 11, 1941 in Ovid, Mich. where she grew up and attended school. Mrs. Gordon was a 1962 graduate of Central Michigan University. She married Michael Gordon in Mt. Clemens, Mich. in 1965, where she was a school teacher. She also taught in Owosso, Mich. In 1970, the family moved to Oscoda. For the next 22 years until retiring in June of 1992, Mrs. Gordon taught at Oscoda Area High School. She is survived by her husband, Michael; a daughter, Leigh Ann Gordon Hammal of Grand Rapids, Mich. who recently earned a master's degree from Michigan State Universtiy; and a grandson, Zakary Michael Hammal. Also surviving are her parents, Lawrence and Mary Helen Buck of Ovid, Mich.; two sisters, Jacquelyn Buck of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Jeanne Trierweiler of Lansing, Mich.; four nieces and one nephew. A Christian wake service was held Sunday evening at the Buresh Chapel of the Buresh-Bennett Funeral Home. Rev. Fr. I. J. Mikulski officiated at the funeral Mass on Monday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial was in the Sacred Heart cemetery. |
