About TECUMSEH — Clair A. Morse passed away May 30, 2007, at Herrick Manor at the age of 84.
He was born Jan. 29, 1923, to Frank D. and Anna Belle (Herzing) Morse at the family farm in Sand Creek, Mich. Clair is a 1940 graduate of Sand Creek High School. He married Fern E. McCarbery on June 26, 1946.
After his retirement from the Budd Company in Clinton, Clair went to work for the Lenawee Intermediate School District where he drove bus for nine years. Clair especially enjoyed his membership in Fairfield Lodge No. 125 F. & A.M., from which he received a 50-year membership pin in 2007. He served twice as Worshipful Master as well as other offices, including 15 years as treasurer. He was also a member of Fairfield Chapter No. 224, O.E.S., where he has earned an honorary membership as well as an Honorary Life Membership to the Grand Chapter of Michigan. He served on the Villa Fund Board of the Grand Chapter for 20 years. He also served as Dad Advisor to the Adrian Chapter of the Order of DeMolay and on the Advisory Board of the Adrian Assembly of the Order of Rainbow for Girls.
Clair is survived by his wife, one son, Michael D. and his wife, Cathryn D., of Jerome, Mich.; one daughter, Kathlene M. of Toledo, Ohio; and a brother, Marion of Issaquah, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Frank, Allen and Dorman; and five sisters, Marguerite Dickerson, Sylvia Curry, Lucille McClelland, Cecile Parker and Alice Raymond.
Funeral services for Clair will be held on Monday, June 4, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Wagley Funeral Home with the Rev. David Welcome officiating. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wagley Funeral Home where there will be an Eastern Star service at 3:30 p.m. and a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
