About | Obit-Dorothy Damon Allen-daughter of Harley and Emma (Lemke) Cole-.Sand Creek TECUMSEH — Dorothy Damon Allen, age 84, of Tecumseh, passed away Aug. 18, 2007, of Parkinson’s with Lewy body disease. Dorothy was born March 23, 1923, in Sand Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Harley and Emma (Lemke) Cole. On Nov. 18, 1942, she married William Damon, Jr. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1985. She married Charles Allen on Nov. 15, 1986. He survives. Dorothy was a resident of the Tecumseh area her entire life. She belonged to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Tecumseh. For many years she worked as the front receptionist and telephone operator for Peerless Gear in Clinton. Besides her husband, Charles, she is survived by two children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she shared with Bill Damon. Her children are Patrice Damon and William Damon and his wife, Linda; three grandchildren, Tamyra, Josh, and Kylar; and three great-grandchildren, Bradley, Sarah, and Kiera. She is also survived by two stepdaughters, Carol and Bob Smith and Sue and Tom Popma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Harley Cole; siblings Marie, Sherman, and Alice; and stepson Jack Allen. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21. 2007, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with the Rev. John Lohmann officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at the J.
