About Richard Myers

Surrounded by his loving family, Richard “Dick” Myers, age 84, of Sand Creek went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Bixby Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 13, 1922, in Adrian to Herman Garfield and Merle (Kuney) Myers. On June 7, 1947, he married the love of his life, Kathleen (Mickey) Leu and she survives.
Dick’s gentle spirit and his joy for life were evident to all who knew him. He was admired for his work ethic, honesty and perseverance through trials of life, and his faithfulness to his family, friends and God. You could always find Dick early in the morning, diligently working on his antiques, preparing for another show. Early in their marriage, Dick worked the family farm in Hillsdale until opening his own business in Adrian. After retiring, Dick and Mickey traveled the country buying and selling antiques, where they met many lifelong friends.
In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by his three daughters, Nancy (Harley) Wagner of Manitou Beach, Marci (Paul) Bailey of Vicksburg, Mich., Leslie (Mike) Lewis of DesMoines, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Susan Boswell of Adrian; one sister, Peggy (Loren) Willey of Clio, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Laurie Fry, Jennifer Wagner, Aaron Bailey, Amanda (Jason) Worrall, Betsy Bailey, Stephanie and Samantha Lewis, Sarah (Chad) Brown and Carrie (Joe) Hulett; five great-grandchildren, Taylor and Hayley Fry, Emily Worrall, Carter and Reid Hulett. He was preceded in death by his parents, a foster son, Charles Boswell; and two sisters, Betty Ball and Louette Myers.
Funeral services for Richard will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, with the Rev. Brad Heiple officiating. Burial will be in West Madison Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sand Creek Community Church, where he was a faithful member for more than 50 years, or to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
