About | James Cunningham IV March 13, 1947 - May 14, 2010. Minister James Cunningham IV transitioned peacefully from this life into his heavenly home with his wife Kate Frances by his side on Friday, May 14, 2010. Family and friends surrounded his beside with prayer and songs of praise. He waged a courageous battle against cancer and left this world confident in his relationship with Jesus Christ. Nicknamed "Sugarman" he was born 1947, in Hughes Arkansas and was the eldest son of James and Gertharie Cunningham. James is a graduate of L.C. Mohr High School, Michigan State University and Western Michigan University. James worked for Starr Commonwealth for 28 years as a consultant and trainer. He met the love of his life, Kate Frances Parker, at the age of 14 they were married in 1966, and reared two boys; James V and Jason Allan. He leaves to mourn his memory: his wife, Kate Frances; two sons, James V and Jason; four grandchildren, Zachary James VI, McKenna, Miles, Elijah; seven siblings, Fred (Eva), Ralph (Bernice), both of South Haven, Rocky (Lorraine) of Kentucky, Louretta (John) Powell of Farmington Hills, Darnell, Charlotte, Leon (Philomena) Cunningham, all of South Haven; and two half-brothers, Richard of South Haven and Franklin of Kalamazoo. He was eulogized at the Tabernacle of David Church in Lansing, Michigan, by his longtime pastor - Elder Larry Trice, and interned in Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven, Michigan, next to his beloved mother and father. To his siblings he was a "Hero", and we all live in the blessed hope of seeing him again - in heaven. |
