KINGSFORD -- Christine Ann Tedeschi, 62, of Kingsford passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Aurora Medical Facility in Two Rivers, Wis.
She was born Jan. 8, 1956 in Stambaugh, daughter of the late Martin and Jayette (Geegan) Penkivech. Chris grew up in Gaastra and graduated from West Iron County High School in 1975 and earned an associate degree from Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba, MI.
On Aug. 22, 1981 she married Rudy Tedeschi at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gaastra. She was the Gaastra City Clerk for 8 years.
They moved to Kingsford in 1987 and resided there since that time. Chris had worked as a supervisor at K-Mart in Iron Mountain for 16 years, where she made many close friends that she considered family. Most recently, she was employed at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Chris was a member of St. Mary & St. Joseph Church, the Iron Mountain Women’s Bowling League and a former member of the Lady’s Elks. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and arts and crafts. Chris was particularly fond of baking and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Rudy; three daughters, Kristen Tedeschi of Kingsford, Tracie (Dustin “Zane”) Slover of Thackerville, Okla., and Mary Tedeschi (Cole Ellis) of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Paul (Michaeline) Penkivech and Patrick Penkivech, both of Gaastra; one sister, Cherrie (Peter) Dedo of Winneconne, Wis.
Chris also leaves behind her beloved dog Orio.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church. Fr. Janusz Romanek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in the Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Cagle, Peter Dedo, Patrick Penkivech, Paul Penkivech, David, Eric and Adam Tedeschi.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
