Chrisyne R. Bartley, 62, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester, St. Marys Campus, as a result of head injuries suffered after a fall at her home. Chrisyne Renae Voorhees was born Sept. 16, 1952, in Austin, Minnesota, to Joseph A. and Delphy A. (Christopherson) Voorhees. Chrisyne was the sixth child born of seven to Joseph and Delphy. Chrisyne was united in marriage to Steven Bartley on March 24, 1973, in Austin, Minnesota. To this marriage three children were born. On May 22, 1989, their youngest child, Christopher was tragically killed. Chrisyne and Steven were high school sweethearts; their love story began in English class at AHS, and they were about to celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversary. Chrisyne and Steven were avid RV campers and enjoyed camping at the Pettibone Campground in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, every summer. They enjoyed cruising on their pontoon down the mighty Mississippi; they were proud “River Rats.” They were creatures of their routines and enjoyed spending their time together. Little did ABC know; they were unofficial judges on Dancing with the Stars. Chris and Steve had a marital bond like no other. Their love was very deep and can never be replaced. Chrisyne worked for 29 years at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin. She enjoyed her job and loved her co-workers. Chris recently retired on Oct. 31, 2014, as the Health Unit Coordinator in Women’s Special Care. She was enjoying all the rewards of retirement. Being a wife, mother and grandmother were Chrisyne’s greatest joys in life. Chrisyne was a loyal sister; get-togethers and having lots of laughs with her siblings and nieces and nephews were some of her favorite times spent. She loved lunches out with her friends and shopping trips to Rochester. It was an honor to be loved by Chrisyne, because she filled your soul.
