| About | Eunice Lynette Downey, age 54, of Austin died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at her home. Eunice was born Jan. 16, 1952, in Austin, Minn., to Albert and Lydia (Wulff) Koepsell. She graduated from Austin High School in 1970. She married Keith Downey on June 14, 1975, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. Over the years Eunice worked at Burr Oak and Woodvale III, did foster parenting through Woodvale and was later licensed for adult foster care. Eunice was the first Executive Director of ARC and was instrumental in starting Our Place Rec. Center. She worked at ABC Bingo until September 2005. In her spare time Eunice enjoyed doing needle work, cooking, baking, entertaining, traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Keith Downey, of Austin, Minn.; foster son, Jason Herman, of Austin, Minn.; sister and brother-in-law, Luella (Robert) Soiney, of Austin, Minn.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Margaret Downey, of Austin, Minn.; brothers-in-law: Kenny Downey, of Wisconsin; Kim (Sue) Downey, of Austin, Minn.; nieces: LuAnn (Joseph) Allen, Michelle Ahles, Amy Downey, Jesse Downey and Casey Downey; great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lydia Koepsell; and nephew, Jeff Soiney. |
