| About | Fred passed away August 17, 2008 at his home after a year's battle with a Glioblastoma (GBM) brain tumor. Fred was born in Newton Falls MA and spent his early years on the East Coast before moving to MN. He attended the Austin pulblic schools - middle schoo through high school, graduated from high school in 1965 and the University of Minnesota in 1969.Following graduation he was the co-founder and president of Robinson Business Forms. He later founded Austra Aircraft Rental and then Tecstra Systems, He was loyal to family and friends, loved nature and the outdoors. Fred truly valued community and took a genuine interest in building strong relationships with people and served on numerous boards in this community. Fred is survived by his wife Meridee, daughter Kimberly (Rick) Carlsen, Plymouth, MN.; son Jonathan (Amy) Robinson, St. Louis Park, MN.; grandchildren, Callie and William Carlsen. He requested his memorials to Brains Together for a Cure, Mayo Rochester, MN. Austin Medical Center Hopsice program and Children's Cancer Research Fund brain tumor research. Fred bequeathed his body to the Mayo Foundation Anatomical Program - he will live on by teaching others as he has all his life. some information taken from his obituary |
