John Deloss Dalager, 61, of Austin, Minn., died Saturday morning, March 1, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus, Rochester, Minn. He was born May 6, 1952, in Austin to Lloyd and Norma Jean (Fuller) Dalager. He graduated from Austin High School in 1971, and then attended Vo-Tech in Faribault for one year. He worked for Twin Cities Greetings, a greeting card company and lived in New Market for twenty-two years. He moved back to Austin in 2006, where he worked at Cedar Valley. On Sept. 6, 2008, he was united in marriage to Bernice “Bonnie” Hudrlik at the Grace Baptist Church in Austin. John loved to fish, knit, woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed spending time with friends and family at reunions and church activities. John especially liked to spend time on the farm working with the animals, something he did whenever possible. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Dalager of Austin; brothers and sisters, Ed (Dea) Erickson of Denver, Colo., Gloria (Mark) Markkula of Menahga, Judy (Harry) Wangen of Hayward, Pam (Steve) Bjoraker of Golden Valley, Paul (Misty) Erickson of Reno, Nev., Cindy (Jack) Cottrell of Oakland and Dan Dalager of Austin; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Norma (Fuller) Dalager; stepfather, Palmer Erickson and a sister, Mary Jo Leibfried. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com. |
