| About | Leonard “Len” Steven Meyer, age 73, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Mary’s Campus. Len was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Leonard and Ardell Meyer on June 7, 1952. He lived most of his life in the small town of Oakland. In 1970, he graduated from Austin High School. Len married Barbara Wendelken on December 11, 1970, and together they had two boys, Philip and Dustin. Len loved hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and tractor pulling. He had many jobs throughout his life, including working alongside family at Meyer’s Locker, assisting local farmers, and working at various packing plants. He was also the proud owner of Meyer Construction & Roofing and Len’s Wood Products. Survivors include his wife, Barb of almost 55 years; sons, Philip (Kelly) and Dustin (Angie); grandchildren, Elijah and Zoe; great-granddaughter, Maxine; brother, Darrell “Pam”; sisters-in-law, Linda Meyer and Elaine Goetsch; and brother-in-law, Kelly Wendelken. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ardell Meyer; brothers, Duane, Bruce, and Bobby; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tex and Marion Wendelken; and brother-in-law, Russel Goetsch. A celebration of life for Len will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Moscow Town Hall, 24225 885th Ave., Austin, MN 55912. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Oakland, Minnesota, at a later date. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin are assisting the family with arrangements. |
