About | Linda M. Butler, 63, of Austin, died peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Maple Manor Nursing and Rehab in Rochester, surrounded by her loving family. Linda Marie Callahan was born Oct. 24, 1952, in Austin, the daughter of Walter E. and Mary E. (Shatek) Callahan. A lifelong Austin resident, Linda graduated from Austin High School in 1971 before earning her LPN degree at Austin Community College. For nine years, she worked at Quality Pork Processors in Austin and at St. Mark's Lutheran Home as an LPN. On Aug. 4, 1990, she was united in marriage to David Butler at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. The couple had one daughter, Sherry. Linda belonged to Cornerstone Church in Austin and experienced much joy spending time with her family. Their favorite activities together included camping, playing games, cards and doing crosswords and puzzles. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Linda is survived by her husband David, of Austin; her daughter, Sherry (Ryan) Anderson, also of Austin; two grandchildren, R.J. and Chase; siblings, Larry (Debra) Callahan, of Lyle, Laurie (Richard) Sylvester, of Rochester, Lanny (Tammy) Callahan and Lois Callahan, both of Blooming Prairie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Callahan. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Cornerstone Church in Austin. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. |
