About | Mike Weldon, 57, died on Jan. 26, 2009 at his home in St. Paul, MN. Michael Dean Weldon was born Jan. 5, 1952 in Lebanon, Oregon. He grew up with his parents and five brothers on a farm near Austin. He attended school in Austin and volunteered for the Army in 1969. He served one year in Vietnam as a Combat Medical Corpsman. Following his honorable discharge he worked as a postman, bartender (famous Gopher Bar), restaurant manager, maintenance person for St. Paul Schools, and drove a taxi for many years in the St. Paul area. Mike especially enjoyed long discussions with family and friends on just about any topic. He spent time fishing in northern Minnesota and had a large collection of antique furniture (Victorian Style). For the past decades, he shared his life with Victoria St. Claire. In addition to his Victoria, he is survived by five brothers, Joseph R. Weldon, Oahu, Hawaii., Dr. David E. and Dorothy (Benson) Weldon, Centerville, Ohio, Phillip G. and Karen (Glubka) Weldon, Lebanon, Ore., James H. and Dorothy (Brandt) Weldon, Denver, Colo., John E. and Patricia (Lee) Weldon, Brownsdale, Minn. and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fay Buel Weldon and Bernice Olive (Morton) Weldon, Austin. Services and internment with military honors will be scheduled at Fort Snelling National Cemetery later this spring. Spielman Mortuary is handling final arrangements. |
