| About | Rebecca (Cafourek) Akkerman of Loganville, Georgia, passed away on May 17, 2025 at the age of 73 after a short battle with Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma. She was born June 15, 1951 to Robert and Joyce Cafourek. Rebecca was married to Charles Akkerman for nearly 25 years before they divorced. She was the mother of two daughters: Angela (Jim) and Danielle. She had three grandchildren, Samantha, Lillian and Elijah. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents and half-siblings. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, siblings, half-siblings, nieces, nephews and her cat, Hercules. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, she worked at the Girls Villa, St. Mark's Lutheran Home and most recently, as a hospice nurse for The Mayo Clinic before retiring to Georgia to be near her youngest daughter. Her favorite pastime was feeding peanuts to the squirrels in her yard. Rebecca always spoke fondly of Minnesota and returning back home. |
