About | Roger Lowell Freitag, 63, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away at his home on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, after a tough battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 7, 1953, in Austin and he attended Austin High School and Austin Area Vocational-Technical Institute. He had many different jobs over the years but found his calling in helping others find their sobriety. He had just received his 20-year chip on Saturday which was his biggest goal to make it on the wall at the club. He loved to ride his motorcycle and he taught that love to everyone he could. He was a well-loved man by many. Survivors are his father, Bob (Loraine) Freitag; his loving wife, Peggy; children, Gina (Ryan), Bobby (Alicia), Jessie (Brad) and Ayla; grandchildren, Curtis, Nikki, Lexy, Brianna, Charisma and Carleigh; great-grandchildren, Mia, Aria, Chloe and Callen; and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian (Howells) Freitag; maternal grandparents, Juanita and Ralph Howells; and paternal grandparents, Fern (Lewis) and Elmer Freitag. A private family celebration will be held in his honor. There will also be a celebration of his life ride on May 6. In lieu of memorials or flowers, the family requests donations be made to the local AA. |
