About | Donna Marie Swanson (November 8, 1961 - January 19, 2005) Donna Marie Swanson, 43, Blackhoof Valley, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord and her loved ones in heaven on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 in Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital. She was born November 8, 1961 in Cloquet, the daughter of Charles and Beverly (Saaristo) Anderson. Donna was a 1980 graduate of Cloquet High School. She married Stuart Swanson on August 7, 1999 in Duluth. Donna was a member of the Eagles Club in Cloquet and enjoyed many things including shopping, cooking, entertaining, decorating, gardening, and traveling with her husband, Stuart. Her grandchildren were the absolute love of her life and one of her greatest pleasures came from spending time and watching them. Donna will be fondly remembered as an incredibly generous and giving person. She was a great gift-giver, selecting with the utmost of care the perfect gift for each person. She unselfishly and generously gave of herself, taking time to listen, offer a helping hand and care for everyone, no matter their age or need. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Marty Anderson; her father-in-law, Herman Swanson; brother-in-law Sherman Swanson and a special friend and brother-in-law, Dennis Karp. Donna's untimely death leaves many to deeply miss her and mourn her passing. She is survived by her husband, Stuart, of Blackhoof Valley; five children, Kristie (Roger) Petersen and Kim Koivisto (Luke Langhorst), both of Cloquet; Tanis (Ron) Carter and Greg (Ivanna) Swanson both of Prior Lake, MN and Troy (Debora) Swanson of Wayzata; nine grandchildren, Zackary , Alexander, Catrina and Roger (Jr.) Petersen, Cianna, Katia and Nathan Swanson and Ryan and Landon Carter; her maternal grandmother, Edna Perkola of Carlton; three brothers, Chuck (Julie) Anderson and Mike (Donna) Anderson, both of Cloquet and Monte (Carey) Anderson of Mora; one sister, Debbie Anderson of Royalton; her mother-in-law, Esther Swanson of Blackhoof Valley; sisters-in-law, Cindy Anderson of Royalton, Betty Swanson and Shelley (Chuck) Rilea both of Carlton and Teresa Swanson and Susan Karp, both of Blackhoof Valley; two brothers-in-law, Butch Swanson (Gloria Olesiak) of Mahtowa and Mitch (Julie) Swanson of Fond du Lac, WI; many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and her two special loving dogs, T-Bone and Bubba. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 22, 2005 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1705 Wilson Ave., Cloquet. Spring burial will be in Sandy Lake Cemetery, Blackhoof Valley.
