Fling, Michelle M. "Shelly" Age 49, of St. Paul, passed away Sept. 21, 2014 after living 5 years with metastatic breast cancer. Born in Slayton, MN, March 14, 1965, during the blizzard of '65. She was a graduate of Lincoln/Jefferson HS in Bloomington, and the College of St. Benedict in 1987. Michelle was the editor of the University of Minnesota alumni magazine for 16 years. Previously, she was editor of Twin Cities Business, Skyway News, McGraw Hill and other regional publications. She was a skilled and perceptive writer who was able to illuminate the very essence of her subject. Preceded in death by her father Paul V. Fling, sister Jennifer, and stepfather Bill Rolandelli. Survived by her beloved husband Mark Luinenburg; mother Margaret "Peg" Fling; siblings Julie, Matt (Marilyn), Steve, and Becky, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Fling; brother-in-law, Lee Sheehy; nieces Rachael (Charlie) Belair, and Maureen Stewart; nephews Anthony and Greg Johnson, Paul W., Nick, Connor, and Alex Fling; grand nephews Isaac, Cameron and Zachary; grand nieces Kianna, Kiera and Jazel; Luinen-burg brothers-in-law Larry (Roxine) and Mic; nephews Brian, Bruce (Becky); nieces Lisa Luinenburg and Kristie (Brett) Elzinga; Rolandelli step siblings Susan (Doug Grina), Nancy (Rod) Billington, Jean, Billy and George (Anne) Rolandelli; and 20 other family members. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of St. Edward, 9401 Nesbitt Ave. S., Bloomington, on Saturday, Sept. 27th at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor's choice. |
