Konzen, Peter Thomas 7/25/1964 ~ 9/25/2014 RANCHO SANTA FE -- It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Peter Thomas Konzen on September 25, 2014 son of Thomas and Joan Konzen. He was born in Dubuque, Iowa and spent his youth in Minnesota. He completed his BS degree in Business at San Diego State University and was active in the finance world. His passions were many and highlighted in off-road motorcycling and boating at the Colorado River with his dogs Rocky and Lily. Pete was blessed with a special gift that drew people to him; he took a genuine interest in everyone and made them feel special. His magnetic smile, quick wit, courage and deep love for his family and friends will be greatly missed. Pete was preceded in death by his mother Joan and sister Cynthia. He is survived by his father Thomas and stepmother Connie, his brothers Jerry, Larry and Thomas and sisters Kimberly, Kathy and Carolyn along with many In-laws, nieces and nephews all of San Diego. A private morning committal service is planned with family at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Escondido, followed by a Celebration of Life with family and friends from 1-4 p.m. on November 7, 2014, at the Del Mar Powerhouse Park community Center (next to Jakes). Pete was a founding board member of the Pulmonary Transplant Foundation which assists with out of pocket expenses for patients with Heart and Lung Transplants.
