Date of Passing Jun 21, 2021
About "Thomas J. Kurvers, Age 58 of Minnetonka, MN died at home on June 21, 2021.

Tom loved being a dad, time at the lake, meaningful lyrics, sharp wit and the history of people and places. His lifelong passion was sports – playing, being a teammate, coaching, mentoring, scouting talent, remembering, and celebrating. He was able to take his love of sports from the backyard to the highest professional levels.

Tom led the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars to the State Tournament (1981); he captained the UMD Bulldogs to the NCAA final game and won the Hobey Baker Award (1984); he was part of the Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadiens (1986). He played 11 seasons in the NHL and one season in Japan. After earning his Masters in Sports Administration, he joined the Arizona Coyotes in 1997 eventually becoming Director of Player Personnel. After 10 years with the Coyotes, he started a decade-long tenure with the Tampa Bay Lightning. In 2018, he was excited to join his hometown Minnesota Wild as Assistant General Manager."
