| About | Betty L. Roskos, age 88, of Jacobson, MN, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN. Betty was born in 1936 to Albert and Nina Bakken in Hanska, MN. She attended school in St. Paul, MN and graduated from Johnson High School in 1954. Betty and Frank Roskos were united in marriage on April 7, 1956, in St. Paul. Betty was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She worked at various places before retiring as an accounting technician from the Minnesota Department of Human Services in 1995 when she joined Frank in Jacobson, MN. Betty was famous for her raisin oatmeal cookies, lefse, spaghetti and meat balls, and Betty's Buns. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was active with her church and sang in the choir. Betty volunteered with many community service needs and served as treasurer for the Splithand Township Board. She also loved making doilies, crocheting, knitting, and playing sudoku. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; and sisters Lola, Lois, and Audrey. She is survived by her daughters, Colleen (Randy) Anderson, Susan Roskos, Beverly (Elliott Thomas) Roskos; son, Gary (Julie) Roskos; sister, Corrine (Ron) Sanderson; brother, Earl (Naomi) Bakken; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. |
