About | Corey David Hennessey lost his two-month battle with cancer on May 3, 2024 surrounded by his family. Corey was born December 8, 1956 to John F. and Julia F. (Busch) Hennessey of Rochester, MN. He graduated from Rochester John Marshall High School in 1975. He met the love of his life, Debra Johnson, on a blind date in 1978 and they were married April 26, 1980. Corey worked at several local retail stores in various capacities including Big G Appliance Company, Guyers Builder Supply, and Lowe’s. He was co-owner of Reliable Maytag Appliances for two and a half years in the early 1990s. Corey enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in their various activities and sports. He enjoyed playing music and attending concerts, skiing, Minnesota sports teams and also Arkansas Razorback Sports, BWCA, and traveling. Corey is survived by his wife of 44 years; daughter Faith (Wyatt) Apel, son David (fiancé Brittany Zolondek); brothers Andrew (Victoria), Todd (Vicky) of Williamsville, NY; father-in-law Gene Johnson of Albert Lea; brothers-in-law Greg Johnson of New Richland and Todd (Diana) Johnson of Albert Lea; grandchildren Brynn and Beau Apel, Arlo Hennessey, McKenna and Elynn Zolondek. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Helen Johnson, and a niece Angela Johnson. Visitation will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. |
