GLEASON, Patrick "Pat" We celebrate the short, yet fulfilled life of Patrick "Pat" Gleason, of Dallas who passed away in his home on the evening of Sunday, June 19th. Born in La Crescent, MN on March 19th, 1957, Pat became a mason at a young age & continued his passion for construction & remodeling throughout his life; this coupled with his innate business acumen earned him trips throughout the US & the world including a trip to the US Olympics in Atlanta awarded to him as a member of the Board of Directors & an owner of multiple Best Western Hotels. Pat's most notable projects included: being the lead mason on the Excalibur in Las Vegas, NV as well as the foreman & ranch manager of the billion dollar ranch, Cibalo Creek, in Marfa, TX. He also played a large role in renovating the Stockyards in Fort Worth, TX as well as building, remodeling & owning countless Best Western Hotels across the US. Pat was a country man at heart who hoped to, one day, make it back to the acreage, woods & horses that he enjoyed. Known for his ability to solve almost any business or construction issue (on a budget), quick wit, sometimes crass nature & love for beer, Pat had a soft side for anyone in need; he generously helped so many throughout his time here. He will be missed by all & his spirit will live on within us. Patrick is survived by his son, James Gleason of TX; daughter Jessica Laslo of CO; mother Lois Gleason of MN; brothers, Michael Gleason & Richard Gleason of WI; sisters, Deborah Volkert of WI & Carol Hedtke of TX; 9 grandchildren; & fiancé Tiffany Haukos of TX. |
