Kay passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at the Northfield retirement community, where she had happily lived for the past 25 years. She was surrounded by her loving family in the community she cherished.--Kay Lorraine Kleeberger was born on July 23, 1952, in Northfield to Lorraine and Robert Kleeberger, where she lived her entire life--She graduated from Northfield High School and worked at Carleton College for decades--Kay enjoyed reading books in the courtyard and piecing together a good classic puzzle. She also enjoyed playing euchre, bingo, and pull-tabs at the local watering hole, always while enjoying a can of Coca-Cola--Her home was always fully decorated for the holidays, which was thoroughly enjoyed by her family and friends--Kay loved a good rummage sale, where she found many salt-and-pepper shakers and unique owl décor to add to her extensive collections.--She is proceeded in death by parents Lorraine and Robert Kleeberger; siblings Becky and Louie Kleeberger, Jerome Thompson; and nephew Scott Thompson, and partner Marvin Way--Kay is survived by:--Her twin sister, Lorraine Hanson, and brother Tom (Pam) Kleeberger; and by nieces and nephews: Pat, Mike, Rick Kleeberger, Jeff, Kristi Thompson, Greg, Jenny, Nick, Candy Hanson - that all loved her dearly as auntie |
