About | Donna Lee Waldhauser Waldhauser, Donna Lee 63, died suddenly from a pulmonary embolism on Sunday, June 24, 2012, while vacationing in New Mexico. Preceded in death by parents, Donald and Eleanor Waldhauser, she is survived by her husband, Jaber Alsiddiqui, brother, Donny Waldhauser and pets Amira, Max and Lakota. Donna grew up in South St. Paul, graduating from South St. Paul in 1967, then attended BYU, Hamlin and Mankato, receiving a BS in Psychology, MS in Middle Eastern Studies and Masters of Social Work, respectively. After retiring from Ramsey County, Donna started her successful business, Alsadu Inc. She followed her dream of uniting third world women's co-op handiworks and antiquities with wholesale and retail markets. She was a pioneer for fair trade practices, earning her a worldwide reputation as an honest, fair and compassionate businesswoman. Donna will be deeply missed by her many close friends, family, colleagues and clients. She was a woman with an adventurous, open and welcoming, intelligent spirit who brought people together to build a better world. Her hearty laughter, amazing stories and boundless compassion will be remembered by all those privileged to know her. A celebration of her life will be held at Carpenter Nature Center on July 28, 2012 at 10:30 with reflections at 11 AM. Direction to the CNC: carpenternaturecenter.org.
