About Roger Dean Evans, age 65, of Detroit Lakes, died Sunday, January 26 2003 at his home. The son of Roy and Mildred (Mohr) Evans, was born November 20, 1937 in Waseca, where he was raised and educated. Following high school, he attended Northwest Technical College in Minneapolis. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1955-1958. On June 17, 1961, he married Karen Roemhildt at Waseca. They lived in Minneapolis, where he was a field service technician for Honeywell for 37 years, retiring in 2000. They moved to Detroit Lakes in 1978, and for 20 years Roger was contracted to Steiger Tractor in Fargo by Honeywell. He was a member of United Methodist Church, and served as a church trustee and usher. A member of the Eagles, he helped with the Food Pantry, and he enjoyed traveling, auctions, fishing and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Karen of Detroit Lakes, a son, Christopher Evans, and his wife, Key of Lakefield, a daughter Kathy Dahlman, and her husband, Steve of Bend, Ore; three brothers: Darrel Evans and his wife, Val of Santa Clara, Cal., Orlo Evans and his wife, Carol of Waseca, and Bruce Evans, and his wife, Vicki of Menomonee, Wis., a sister, Jeanette Williamson, and her husband, Merle of Waseca, and five grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
