About | Joseph B. "Bruce" Krause, 53, of North Biloxi died Saturday, Feb. 4, 1995, in Pascagoula. Bruce was born July 11, 1941, in Baltimore, Md. He returned to Biloxi at age 2, along with his mother and Sister, following the death of his Father. He was a 12-year Salutatorian Graduate of St.; Martin High School, Class of 1959. He attended Perkinston Junior College and then began work for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service in South Carolina, Tennessee and, Florida. Bruce served 20 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He became 1st Sergeant and he also recruited for the Guard. He had been employed at Chevron Oil Refinery in Pascagoula for the past 10 years. Bruce, along with his wife Rita, owned and operated Charism Christian Books and Gifts in Ocean Springs for five years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in DIberville, where he served as Eucharistic Minister and Commentator. He and Rita also taught the Senior CCD Class at Sacred Heart for many years. Together they participated in and hosted parish renewals and the Renew program. Bruce was at one time a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Legion of Mary. Bruce and Rita began the early Marriage Encounter Newsletter and Bruce contributed to the Cursillo Movement of South- Mississippi on Various retreat teams as team member rector and co-rector, and also as a member of the Cursillo board. A Verse from one of Bruce's favorite songs expresses life best: At a time of our particular sunset, our thing, our accomplishment won't really matter a great deal. But the clarity and care with which we have loved others will speak with vitality of the great gift of life that we are for each other. God graced us in Bruce with his ability to make us laugh, love and cry. May his memory remain with us as his soul rests in God? He was preceded in death by an infant son, Curtis B. Krause. Survivors include his wife, Rita F. Krause of North Biloxi; two daughters, Jan L. Krause-Norris of Salem, S.C., and Mary K. Kathy" Krause-Yingst of West Union, S.C.; a son David B. Krause of Jennings, La.; a sister, Dorothy "Dot" Krause-Lecroy of `Salem, S. C.: and eight, grandchildren. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 10 at the Howard Avenue chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe, with a, 7:30 recitation of the Rosary. A procession will Leave the funeral home at 1:40 p. m. to go to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dïberville for a 2 p. m. Mass. Burial will be in Bosarge Cemetery in North Biloxi. "This We'll Defend" |
