About Hazel N. Jobe, 95, of California, MO went to heaven to be with Jesus and her husband Glenn and her many loved ones that were there waiting for her on Monday, April 22, 2013, two days after her 95th birthday. We believe the first thing Jesus will say to her is “Well done, good and faithful servant.” She was born on April 20, 1918 the daughter of Albert and Mary (Shikles) Bolinger, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended Oak Hill School and California High School. She graduated from Central Missouri State University, and also attended the University of Missouri and Lincoln University in Jefferson City. She was married on February 17, 1940 in California, MO to Glenn S. Jobe who preceded her in death on June 1, 2008. She was a elementary teacher for over 40 years, and taught at Pilot Grove School, Sappington, Oak Dale, Latham and California. She was a member of First Baptist Church in California, and had been a member of Flag Springs Baptist Church and Green Grove Baptist Church as well. Hazel taught Sunday School for over 65 years and was a leader in Vacation Bible School for many years. Her life was teaching and loving her family. She was fond of saying, “I had over 3,000 students and I never had a bad one.” She truly loved each one and spent her life in service to others. She is survived by 2 sons; Glenn David Jobe and wife Marilyn, Paul Jobe and wife Helen all of Columbia, MO and Diane Jobe Henry of Boonville; 7 granchildren, Jamie Shepherd and husband Scott of Jefferson City, MO, Lori Jobe of Columbia, MO, Greg Jobe and wife Susan of Gladstone, MO, David Jobe and wife Becky of Macomb, Ill, Shawna Dunnaway and husband Shane of California, MO, and Cori Busby and husband Steve of Columbia, MO, and Richard Wheeler also of Columbia, MO; 12 great grandchildren, Haley and Hannah Cajandig, Javen, Chance, Kale and Zane Shepherd, Talon Jobe, Elijah, Enoch and Max Dunnaway and Kyla Lee and Ryan David Jobe; and 1 brother, Kelly Bolinger of Rochester, WA and 1 sister, May Kirchoff of California, MO. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Layton and Ray Bolinger. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in California, MO. Burial will be in Flag Springs Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Morrow. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., also in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in California, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church or Flag Springs Church Rebuilding Fund, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, MO.
